Tears of the Kingdom history and setting
As for the plot, we know very little about it Tears of the Kingdom Currently. It’s a direct sequel The breath of the wildand Link and Zelda appear to be traveling together to investigate a mysterious plague.
In 2019, Zelda series producer Eiji Aonuma revealed that the game will have a darker tone than The breath of the wildand will even be “a little darker” than Majora’s Mask (via IGN).
The trailers certainly confirm this, with what looks like Ganondorf’s corpse resurrected by a disembodied hand and seemingly 2006 photos twilight princessin which Hyrule turned into a gloomy land of shadows – mainly in response to a much happier and cartoonish The Legend of Zelda: Wind Waker. That said, it won’t be all doom and gloom – at least visually – as recent teasers have at least hinted that we’ll take to the skies and explore among the clouds.
Something that was obvious from the first trailer (which is embedded above this section) is timing will be the theme Tears of the Kingdom. In the revealed trailer, the music appears to be playing backwards, as are some of the scenes shown. It’s been repeated in recent trailers, so probably yes Tears of the Kingdom the story may somehow revolve around time manipulation.
Game Tears of the Kingdom
Thanks to a 10-minute gameplay demo that aired on March 28, 2023, we already know what Tears of the Kingdom will look like. From what has been shown, it seems like the game will make a lot of use of Breath of the Wild’s systems as a starting point. However, there are a few new abilities that should make the sequel stand out.
A fuse is shown that allows players to combine objects in the open world. The branch was combined with the boulder to make a hammer, and the monster’s eye combined with a regular arrow created homing variants. Then there is the case where the puffball is connected to the shield. When hit by an enemy, this created a huge cloud of smoke that allowed Link to go for a stealth kill.
Ultrahand was also shown, which is another new skill that allows you to glue items together. In the demonstration, Link uses this to glue three large logs together to build a makeshift raft. A fan is then added to form a full sailing ship. Objects in nature can be glued together in this way to create new tools, such as flying vehicles and even cars. It is clear that the sky is the limit in terms of creation in Tears of the Kingdom.
Speaking of heaven, there will be many islands to explore in Rears of the Kingdom. They are floating land masses that contain enemies and small puzzles. In the demo, Link uses his Summon ability to reach a sky island. Summoning reverses the movement of an object, in this case a falling rock. Link rides over a rock that falls in reverse, rising before dropping the glider onto a sky island.
Finally, there’s Ascend, an ability we’ve seen previously in trailers. It can be used to go through the ceiling to get to the higher platform of the area. Caves can be used to quickly climb mountains like this. Ascend can be used on any ceiling where the top is exposed to the world. Once Link was done exploring the sky island, he jumped off it, using the new skydiving mechanic to reach the ground. It looks like this will be a great way to explore new locations.
