Rick Famuyiwa has admitted that there are some fan theories floating around him The Mandalorian season 3 are 100% real.
Speaking exclusively to TechRadar, the director and executive producer of the Star Wars series confirmed that some fans guessed parts correctly The Mandalorian Season 3’s story, character introduction, and how it will tie into other projects set in a galaxy far, far away.
Star Wars fans shouldn’t get too excited about finding out which theories are true, though. Given the secrecy surrounding the Disney Plus show’s final season, Famuyiwa declined to provide specific examples. Instead, he decided to praise the global Star Wars fans for their relentless detective work – even if some of their hypotheses are far from the truth.
“I’m always fascinated by our fans,” said Famuyiwa. “I am among them because I know both from our program and from other programs and things in this world that detective work and [having] this taste is quite spectacular.
“You’re often surprised at how accurate it is. You say, “Wow, I can’t believe they pulled that out.” Other times it’s completely out of place. But I think the energy of it all is exciting. I would say some of the fan theories are accurate and some are not. I can’t confirm which is which, but in some respects they’re right.”
This is the way – to keep the fans guessing
A program as popular as The Mandalorian, especially one set in Lucasfilm’s legendary sci-fi series, will attract more than the average amount of fan theories, rumors, and other online speculation. And thanks to industry insiders and other leaks, well, leaks and set photos during and after principal photography on the show, it’s easier for some fans to hypothesize how the next installment of the series could play out.
The appearance of official footage – eg The Mandalorian The official season 3 trailer, which debuted in January 2023, only adds fuel to the fire. Of course, trailers are released to create excitement before the premiere of a movie or series, and most fans understand this. However, some fans – including us – will really delve into the material’s meaning, comparing it to the leaked material and trying to connect the dots.
So it is understandable why key members The MandalorianThe crew, including Famuyiwa, must be very careful about what he says. As revealed by Famuyiwa, he is as likely as any other fan to take a peek to see what rumors are circulating online. However, unlike us, Famuyiwa confirmed that he is doing his best to “not go into rumors because I don’t want to go down the rabbit hole.” We hear you, Rick.

Then there is talk of Boba Fett in a supporting role, especially after the appearance of Din Djarin The Book of Boba Fett, and taking that into account The Mandalorian season 3 aims to explore Boba and Din’s home world of Mandalore in more detail.
