AdminPSVR 2 pre-orders are now available, and Sony has started sending invitations to people who have expressed interest in purchasing the upcoming PS5 virtual reality headset. If you have entered your details through PlayStation Direct, please check your inbox for the time and date when the PlayStation VR 2 purchase link will be available.
Unfortunately, not everyone who has registered will be selected at this stage, but invitations will continue to be sent out until the PSVR 2 launch date, which is February 23, 2023. If you have not yet registered but want to do so sooner, pre-order PSVR 2 then please use the PlayStation Direct store link below to register interest in your region.
It seems that Sony has learned from previous mistakes after the PS5 restocking fiasco and is limiting PSVR 2 distribution at such an early stage. Along with the announcement of the price and release date of PlayStation VR 2, the manufacturer confirmed that the official PlayStation Direct store is the only place where you can register your interest in PSVR 2. You also need to be in the US, UK, France, Germany, Belgium, Netherlands or Luxembourg to qualify.
However, it has been confirmed that the VR headset will be available for pre-order at other retailers in other regions before November 15. The PlayStation Direct store exclusivity also only applies to this initial pre-order phase, but there’s no indication of when that will be lifted. If you’re selected, you’ll be able to pick up the standard PlayStation VR 2, which comes with the PSVR 2 headset, PSVR 2 Sense controllers and stereo headphones for $549.99 / £529.99 / €599.99. There’s also a PlayStation VR 2 – Horizon Call of the Mountain Bundle which includes all of the above plus a download code for one of PSVR’s mainline games, Horizon Call of the Mountain, for $599.99 / £569.99 / €649.99 .
