While Microsoft has rebranded its Teams Rooms offering, the ambition remains the same: to provide businesses with the tools they need to support the new hybrid work and videoconferencing use cases.
“The future of work is flexible. Now more than ever, organizations need a single, integrated environment that makes collaborative work easier and more engaging for their employees, whether they’re all in the same room, remotely, or – for many of us – a combination of both “- wrote Microsoft wa blog post (opens in a new tab).
“Enabling some really great hybrid meetings and collaborations is gone It’s nice to have down I must have. For this reason, Microsoft is delighted to announce changes to Microsoft Teams Rooms, making it easier to embark on a hybrid journey. “
The main difference between free and paid plans is the sophistication of the features available. While Teams Rooms Basic will allow smaller businesses to schedule and attend meetings, it lacks the management and security features found in Teams Rooms Pro.
The paid version is also said to offer a wider array of meeting features and functionality. For example, the service includes a wider range of video chip options, improved noise suppression, and under the hood features that improve performance. It also comes with features such as live reactions designed to increase your level of engagement.
Whether the new contract will result in cost savings will vary from customer to customer as a result of the transition from subscription to device model to subscription to user model. For a midsize company with a Teams Rooms fleet significantly smaller than the number of employees, the new plan may prove to be more expensive.
Customers currently on the legacy Standard and Premium plans will be migrated to the new Teams Rooms pricing structure at the end of the subscription period.

Microsoft Teams Rooms Pro will cost £ 30.20 per user / month in the UK and $ 54.90 per user / month in Australia.
