Intel gave a hint on how much some of its higher-end Arc graphics cards will cost.
How VideoCardz (opens in a new tab) It has been noted that this is making a comeback to Intel’s garbage hunting contest that began in early 2021, offering a prize package for winners including GPU Arc – the problem is that these graphics cards have yet to be released.
This means that the promised Arc A770 and A750 cards had yet to be shipped to the winners (of course), so Intel offered an alternative reward for those who didn’t want to wait any longer.
These alternatives have just been revealed and are Core i7-12700K or Core i5-12600K processors. So now people who previously opted for a different award can get one of these processors, and if they don’t like it, choose the original award and wait for an A7 series graphics card. Remember that this decision must be made by August 19 (next Friday).
Interestingly, the Intel memo mentions that the overall reward value will be “equivalent” to that of the original Arc GPU plus a gadget bundle (as you might expect). Therefore, we can conclude that the A770 roughly corresponds to the processor value of 12700K, and the same should be true for the A750 in relation to 12600K. These processors currently have a suggested retail price of $ 409 and $ 289 in the US, respectively.
Analysis: arranging the pieces of the price puzzle
It is a suggestion – and just a tip that we must take with extreme caution – that the A770 could be put up for $ 400 in the US (around £ 330, AU 570) and the A750 for $ 300 (around £ 250, AU $ 430), and maybe just below these potential suggested prices.
This makes sense considering we’ve just seen Intel benchmarks for the Arc A750 showing that the graphics card can handle Nvidia’s RTX 3060. Intel, if it were to produce a mid-range GPU that undermines Team Green – and that’s what Team Blue is likely to be aiming for. The rumor mill previously floated numbers around $ 300 for the price of the A750, so again this is another piece to fit into the overall puzzle.
As for the top A770 graphics card, a pricing of around $ 400 would make the card roughly the same as the RTX 3060 Ti, and given what we’ve heard about performance rumors so far, it’d make sense again. It all depends on how aggressively Intel is looking to price its more powerful Arc Alchemist graphics cards, and given the tumultuous start and the many lags associated with these desktop GPUs, perhaps the company will be looking to give buyers more reasons to buy than we’ve seen. far away (with concerns about the quality of the graphics drivers, which are undoubtedly daunting for some).
Is the fact that alternative prizes will be sent out soon a sign that perhaps these Arc GPUs aren’t too distant? Perhaps that’s one way you can read it, but considering the way Arc’s Desktop Launch has come this far, we didn’t hold our breath.
With all the lags, there is a concern that these Arc graphics cards will face the next-gen AMD and Nvidia lines, although that said, the RTX 4060 is not one of Lovelace’s first GPUs. Gates.
